A Visual Journey - 1803 Illustration project

Located in north Devon, Ford Mill was built in 1803 and is now a family home. This large illustration is a celebration of the year this Mill was built, high-lighting some the noted people and events of 1803. These include the Battle of Waterloo, the construction of the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, and the composing of Beethoven’s Eroica.

The illustration is depicted on a map of the area where Ford Mill is located. Executed mostly pen and ink to give it an old-fashioned feel, the map itself is tea-stained in every school kid's favourite trick to achieve that 'aged' look.

Acrylic, water colour, pens, pencils, Earl Grey tea and gloss varnish on a map.

102 x 82cm.
